"Very Far Away, A Lightning Rod That Couldn't Pull The Storm From Me." [Mar. 6th, 2006|06:06 pm]

[music |"War All The Time" - Thursday]

I has been a long time since I've updated, and alot has happened. Some of you know, some of you do not. Here is a bit of an update.

I dropped out of school at the beginning of last semester. A brief explanation: I really didn't like it. It wasn't for me. I had been tired of school since high school, and I guess I just went because it was the thing to do.

So then what? I joined the United States Navy. Some of you knew this, many of you did not. Now that we are up to speed, I can continue. There are many of you I will miss alot. There are alot of fond memories of fun times.

This is my two weeks notice. I am leaving on Wednesday, March 22nd. I'll be going to Navy Boot Camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. That will last 2 months. Then I will be shipped to Charleston, South Carolina where I will spend about a year and a half learning about Nuclear Sciences. Then I will probably go out to the fleet, and see the world. From there, I don't know what will happen or how long it will be before I come back to Michigan.

With that said, I'd like to do alittle bit of hanging out/rendezvous/Grand havening/whatevers. Leave a comment, send me an IM. Wish me luck.

THE RULES: List five songs that you are currently loving.
It doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now.
Post these instructions, the artists, and the songs in your blog.
Then tag five other Xanga/LiveJournal friends to see what they're listening to.

1. "Seventy Times 7" - Brand New
2. "Car Underwater" - Armor for Sleep
3. "Demolition Lovers" - My Chemical Romance
4. "Ghost Man on Third" - Taking Back Sunday
5. "Existentialism on Promnight" - Straylight Run

No time for a real update...I have to run to class and whatnot...however I may be coaxed into an update later in exchange for some comments ^_^;;

Normally, I don't update...but our favorite hang out is Selling Out. It started with the TVs they put in there, which I guess wasn't so bad. But as of yesterday i believe, they got new menus (the cover has the history of grand haven or something) and they raised the prices.
COFFEE IS NOW $1.25 PER CUP and is limited to 2 cups unless you purchase food. The price of tea is also up there....

Bullshit...

Yesterday I went in at about 7 or 8 and the non smoking section was filled with Old People and families with kids....

A beautiful girl can make you dizzy, like you've been drinking Jack and Coke all morning. She can make you feel high full of the single greatest commodity known to man--promise. Promise of a better day. Promise of a greater hope. Promise of a new tomorrow. This particular aura can be found in the gaze of a beautiful girl. In her smile, in her soul, the way she makes every rotten little thing about life seem like it's going to be okay.

Your Secondary Thinking Style:

Exploring

You thrive on the unknown and unpredictable. Novelty is your middle name.
You are a challenger. You tend to challenge common assumptions and beliefs.

An expert inventor and problem solver, you approach everything from new angles.

It's been a rough day. My kitty, Scout, died this morning...he had tapeworms and we didnt get it in time. He was suffering/dying this morning so I had to put it out of its misery...It was hard...we told Joshy he died in his sleep. I'm not feeling well today, wasnt feeling to well yesterday either...my throat hurts. I've been laying around on the couch most of the day. I'm supposed to go to ICS at 4 and show them the Access report i was working on....i guess thats about it for today...

[music |"J-E-N-O-V-A" - Final Fantasty VII Reunion Tracks]

Well, This weekend was pretty fun, I got to go camping as i mentioned before and we also went to the zoo. I would like to think I was pretty helpful around the camp. We left saturday morning at about 9 or so and arrived at about noon and set up the camper and all the tents. People went biking on the trails but I stayed behind with Bens girlfriend and Mom and walked around gathering sticks and collecting some kindling for the fire. I built a teepee like structure in the fire pit which would be used as the base for the fire later that night. We had dinner and eventually started a fire. Ben, Katie and I went into the woods and sword fought with sticks...I was pretty badass.
My fire turned out well. Sunday there was more bike riding and I actually went for a ride, which i think was about 8 miles long. It was fun but exhausting and by the time i got back a was tired and sore. When we got back we went to the Binder Park zoo, which was entertaining as i am fascinated by animals, though I became somewhat frustrated by the fact that all the coolest animals had stickers on the display saying that they were slowly being wiped out. I'm pissed off at alot of humanity, but I guess its not uncommon for the people i hang out with to have those sorts of feelings.

I got to pet a giraffe.

We got back and built a fire and hung out, and it rained. I went to bed early that night and work up at about 7:30 this morning. we had breakfast and then some people went for a bike ride, I didnt. then we packed up and left, getting Ice cream on the way home. I had pizza for dinner and watched a movie with my family. Thats about it for today.

On another note, I thouroughly enjoy Neil Gaiman. I've been reading through some of the stories in Smoke and Mirrors and finding them as existing the 3rd, 4th, or 5th time i read them as the first time. I read some of the stories to ben and katie over the weekend, others i read to myself around camp or on the ride home.

I guess thats about it for now, except a quiz...

You Are The Key Character
"It's what I was meant to do."

You are the true enigma. No one knows much about you, you do not understand much of yourself, and your life seems to carry no purpose. Yet regardless of everything around you - everyone knows that you are here for some reason, even if no one yet knows what that is. Things seem to simply fall into place for you. Almost as though some force is working either through you, for you, or around you. No matter your troubles, ou have been sent here to unlock something. This is your destiny.

Well, today I pretty much sat on my ass all day, well, I also played with the Josh. When the evening came, Kelsey, amanda and ben came over and my family started a bonfire, also Rob's friend Kaitlyn(?) came over and we had hamburgers and chips. The bonfire was pretty nice, but Kelseys, ben and amanda had to leave by 8:45 which was pretty crappy IMO. But we ate dinner and then looked at the fire for abit before coming in and watching the last half of "I <3 Huckabee's" with rob and his friend, which was a good movie, but also very trippy and philosophical. I have a feeling it would make a little more since had i watched it from the beginning. I really mean it when I say "alittle more" because, it's just one of those movies. Kelsey and sibs went home and Rob, Kaitlyn and I finished the movie. Then rob and kaitlyn took off somewhere and I went out and tended to the fire, which we got pretty big. I had wanted ben to stay the night, but i guess his parents wouldnt let him. Oh, and we had smores. Anyways, i should probably get to bed because its about midnight and I have to wake up tomorrow morning to get picked up to go camping with Kelsey and family and friends at Ft. Custard, which should be fun...as long as it doesnt get too rainy. Thats all for today folks,

[music |"Nemo" - Nightwish]

So, today was decent enough. I finishes up my Microsoft Access project last night, finally. I went to bring it it today, but the boss lady said she was about to leave and to come back next wednesday, so I guess I'll do that then. I had to wake up early this morning to take rob out to school, which is all right because I got to listen to the Free Beer and Hotwings morning show, which I love so much, the highlight of my morning. Afterwards I stopped at the bank to make a deposit, and picked up kelsey...so that was cool.

Then the day dragged by lazily and I went and I eventually packed up for camping and went to the Carnaval for alittle bit and saw Corky and Liz...and now I guess I'm about to eat dinner, porkchops, so...thats about all for tonight, except maybe some starcraft later.

Umm, so didn't do much today, but I thought I would try to update this damn thing more often. Anyways, rob and I went to Coffee Hut a.k.a Beans a Brewin and talked about/wrote part of a script for a movie we may or may not be making, i dunnno. Anyways I saw Corky and got my white mocha latte, which was delicious. Then we came back home and I did dishes which was not so delicious and here I am updating my live journal and talking to some people. Tomorrow I think im finishing up that thing for ICS and bringing it in and seeing if they still want to hire me or if they all ready found some one else to do the job. Hopefully not. Anyways, I got another job back at orchard, so that should be pretty nifty, i hope. Ideally ill be able to go to ICS in the momrning, then walk/ride a bike to orchard afterwards, but we'll see what happens. Im not really expecting that many hours at orchard because they werent even looking to hire anyways, but anything will be nice I guess, I really need the money. I'm going camping this weekend, with ben and kelsey and family, which should be fun, I do so love camping, so I'lll update on how that goes...

So thats about it for now, I'll try to update more frequently from now on, i promise :-P
